Moly-Sabata permet une pause. Son temps est interlude. Et ce n’est pas parce que le spectacle est suspendu, que tout s’arrête. Au contraire, la scène continue d’exister même lorsqu’on éteint les projecteurs. L’exposition « Entr’acte » dévoile ce qui se fabrique lorsque les rideaux se referment. Réveillant la mémoire de personnalités du voisinage de Moly-Sabata telles que la divette de l’Opéra-Comique Fanély Revoil (1906-1999) et le pensionnaire de la Comédie-Française Raymond Saint-Prix (1887-1981), l’exposition « Entr’acte » s’attache à une sophistication mobile, entre carrière citadine et vie à la campagne. Une manière de ne pas laisser à Paris le monopole du glamour. L’exposition « Entr’acte » associe ainsi dix artistes de différentes générations, horizons et pratiques, façonnant une élégance tout terrain, partout chez elle, libre.

The Fondation d’entreprise Hermès is pleased to present the group exhibition “Spektrum Spektrum,” jointly organized by the two Hermès galleries in Brussels and Tokyo. This exhibition emerged through dialogue, and holds up a mirror to “Spektrum,” held at La Verrière in Brussels from May 16 to July 27, in 2024, while layering new narrative structures at the Ginza Maison Hermès Le Forum in Tokyo. The spektrum of the title is the German spelling of spectrum, a word that conveys a wide range of meanings and nuances. It refers to distributions or ranges of physical phenomena, such as optical or acoustic spectra, while also evoking specters, ghosts or apparitions, and in Europe, metaphorically referring to a folding fan. Expanding by means of augmented curation on Berlin-based artist Emmanuelle Castellan’s solo exhibition in Brussels, “Spektrum Spektrum” employs the word’s inherent range and resonance as a reflective device. The exhibition can be likened to a novel, occupying a liminal zone between truth and fiction and generating an intimate indoor narrative in the venue. Emmanuelle Castellan paints figures on canvas using incisive marks to montage-like effect, constructing spaces reminiscent of stage and film sets while drawing inspiration from nouveau roman writers such as Marguerite Duras. Ceramic artist Johannes Nagel unearths shi ing dimensions through vessels characterized by vivid colors, asymmetry, discord, and surfaces that alternate between roughness and smoothness. The exhibition also features Walter Swennen’s paintings, which present cryptic codes, and Michiko Tsuda’s works, which apply principles of moving images to render spatiotemporal amplitudes visible. Kentaro Kawabata’s objects imbue the concave surfaces of vessels and spoons with erotic illusions while establishing boundaries. Motoyuki Daifu’s photographs deploy aquatic specters, manifesting on streets, with strong doses of humor, and Marie Laurencin elevates reality to the realm of the decorative sublime in luminous pastel hues. As these works inevitably interact with and reflect one another, the spectrum will reiterate itself, revealing its forms and apparitions.
